Is there a variation between kindle and kindle fire?

Question by TT: Is there a difference between kindle and kindle fire? I want a kindle for Xmas, but I was wondering if there's a variation among a kindle and a kindle fire. Because I have heard that a kindle just has books, and a kindle fire has books and apps that you can get. Greatest answer:

The kindle fire is a lot much better than just the plain kindle. Its basically an ipad by amazon. And its alot less costly than and real ipad. The regular kindle is just books. It it doesnt have a touch screen like the kindle fire does. Hope this assisted!!
