Whoever owns the rights to the guide (the publisher or the writer, generally) has to make a decision to make it obtainable on the Kindle - Amazon cannot just scan a paper copy and supply it for sale, due to the fact they'd get sued if they did. Some rights-holders do not want to do it, or do not feel it would be lucrative, or just have not received about to it. If you find a single of the print editions on Amazon, there should be a hyperlink that says "tell the publisher I want to study this on my Kindle", which I suppose provides Amazon some ammunition.
